Mardi is closer to being an Elbie clone than anything Elbie has produced. Mardi has her mom's powerful driving rear, her color, her head shape and her extreme presence in the show ring. This girl lives to show. She has more layback of shoulder, a smaller chest and more coat than her mom, but to see the two standing next to each other you sure know where she came from!

Mardi has as much reach and drive as any terrier you'll find. She moves like a sporting dog and effortlessly covers the ground. To keep up with her you better have long legs and be able to move!

Like her mother Mardi hit the show ring ready to win and win she did. Her first weekend out she took 2 back-to-back 3 point majors and BOS at the Greenville, SC cluster under judge Dr. Gerard Penta at the Spartanburg Kennel Club show and under Ms. Jill Soble-Smith at the Hendersonville Kennel Club show the end of July 2007 at 6 months of age. At the Roanoke Kennel Club show a few days later judge Desi Murphy awarded Mardi WB/BW and BOS. The following day Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine put her WB and BOS. At the Columbia, SC Kennel Club show Mr. Edward Haas and Peggy Hass awarded Mardi BW and BOS. William Bergum finished Mardi's championship with WB/BW and BOS. She was only 9 months old when she earned her AKC championship, and so we decided to give her several months off to mature. Her first weekend back out as a special at 16 months of age she took 2 back-to-back BOB in Charlottesville, VA.

We believe this girl has what it takes to be a top ranked special. Just goes to show that Elbie knew exactly what she was doing and planned her "swan song" litter. We're grateful she took things into her own paws! Watch for CH Emerald Fox Mardi Gras in the Specials ring.
